To successfully manage your stock, having a well-organized stockroom is crucial. This user guide offers tips and suggestions to help you organize your stock in preparation for Invedent's stock management system.

Before getting started, keep these tips in mind:

  • Remove any unnecessary clutter, as holding onto the stock you'll never use only takes up valuable space.
  • Keep items in their original boxes to make tracking easier.
  • Avoid overcrowding cupboards, as it can make tracking stock difficult.


Removing Clutter

Consider creating a "Spares Box" to store old and unused supplies. Label a medium to large size box as such, and anything not expected to be used within the next 4-6 months can be thrown or kept in this box.


Grouping Stock

To make tracking stock easier, try grouping items by procedure or category in each cupboard. Avoid having multiple locations for the same item to prevent confusion for staff. Whenever possible, keep stock in its original packaging instead of emptying it into smaller containers.

Note that this may be challenging for dental practices with limited storage space.
